The weather is putting a damper on the first evening of play in the American Legion Southeast Regional at Shelby High's Keeter Stadium at Veterans Field.
In the first game of the evening session, weather stopped the contest between North Carolina champion Randolph County and Georgia champ Leesburg. Randolph was leading 7-0 in the sixth inning when players had to leave the field due to threatening skies at 6:37 p.m. Play resumes at 7:42 but delayed again two minutes later.
At 8 p.m., play had yet to resume.
