For the third time in the contest, the grounds crew at Keeter Stadium and Veterans Field rushed out to cover the pitcher's mound and batters' boxes with tarps as another sudden rainstorm disrupted play.
Randolph County still led 7-2 in the top of the eighth when another storm -- which didn't appear on the press box radar -- popped up. However, within 10 minutes the tarps were removed and the grounds crew was hard at work trying to get play restarted.
Pitcher and catcher for Leesburg, Ga., were already out on the field warming up for the restart at 9:50 p.m.
